Zimbabwe is one of the countries experiencing severe environmental consequences such as water pollution, land pollution, air pollution, illegal mining, veldfires, and deforestation. The country is also dealing with wetlands invasion caused by urbanization and industrialization, as well as the effects of climate change and ozone layer depletion. Deforestation caused by massive wood fuel consumption alone is estimated to cost the country between 100,000 and 320,000 hectares of vegetal cover annually. Displacement, loss of arable land, land degradation, property destruction, and hording of natural resources without community benefit are also characteristics of Zimbabwe as a result of small and large-scale mining. This is why we implement various projects aimed at promoting holistic environmental protection and sustainable management of natural resources.
